Jitka Vlašínová
Interní kardiologická klinika, Fakultní nemocnice Brno, Brno, Česká republika

Despite recent major advances in medicine we are now faced with a relatively new group of patients with cardiac device-related infection. It is necessary to pay close attention to the increasing number of these patients, to identification of the risk factors which predispose to this complication as well as to their specific identification treatment which has its specifics. The aim of this article is to offer an overview of problems experienced by patients with cardiac device-related infection.
