The document is dedicated to healthcare workers taking care of patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD) nearing end of life. The aim of the document is to ease the suffering during the process of dying of these people. Guidelines agree with the guidelines of the European expert societies1-5 and are not in contradiction with Czech legal system. The situation in USA differs in some aspects.
