Secondary prevention in the follow-up study of a group of patients undergoing surgery for coronary heart disease (12-year development)

Aim: To determine the value of secondary prevention in the follow-up study of a group of patients undergoing surgery for coronary heart disease 12 years ago.
Method: A group of 336 persons was analyzed (249 males and 87 females, mean age: males 58.55±9.834 years, females 57.72±11.509 years; n.s.). Laboratory parameters (lipids, fasting glycemia) and left ventricular ejection fraction were also determined.
Results: In 1998, fasting glycemia>6.1 mmol/l was found in 32% of patients, with the figure rising to 54% in 2010. While 26% of patients had total cholesterol
