Embolic complications of prosthetic valve endocarditis

Infectious endocarditis remains to be a serious, life-threatening condition even today. Mortality is increased, exceeding 30%, with endocarditis involving prosthetic valves. The authors present the case of prosthetic valve endocarditis involving the aortic valve prosthesis with embolic complications resulting in deterioration of the patient's condition and, eventually, his death.
