Mitral stenosis and regurgitation.

This article addresses various aspects of mitral stenosis and regurgitation from communication with the patient, through auscultation to ultrasound examination, and to catheterization. After quantifying mitral valve disease, the pharmacological, catheter-based, and surgical therapeutic options with each condition are discussed.
