Papillary fibroelastoma is the second most frequent primary cardiac tumor; despite its benign nature, it may be the source of serious, life-threatening embolic events. The rates of detection of this tumor increase with the increasing availability of echocardiography. The authors report the case of aortic valve papillary fibroelastoma in an asymptomatic female patient, which was managed by valve-sparing surgery.
